Feeling depressed can leave you feeling hopeless, isolated, and not your usual self.
You may be feeling:
- Low motivation
- Increased time spent by yourself/wanting to be alone
- Distance from the things that used to bring you joy
- Hopelessness, it's difficult to see a bright future right now
- Feeling like you have to "mask" or "be on" when you are at work, in your relationship, etc. - it can sometimes feel like you are "fake happy"
Sometimes depression can be in the aftermath of something that makes "sense" to be sad about: a loss of a loved one, a big change or life event. Sometimes it can be there for no external reason at all - sometimes we just feel this way and it's difficult to pinpoint exactly "why", and that can feel frustrating. I get that.
Many of my clients feel a big relief in coming into therapy regularly during this time so that we can talk through what you are feeling, and to give you a place where you can express your thoughts and feelings openly and honestly, without fear of judgment or being "a burden".
