Feeling depressed can leave you feeling hopeless, isolated, and not your usual self.

You may be feeling:

  • Low motivation
  • Increased time spent by yourself/wanting to be alone
  • Distance from the things that used to bring you joy
  • Hopelessness, it's difficult to see a bright future right now
  • Feeling like you have to "mask" or "be on" when you are at work, in your relationship, etc. - it can sometimes feel like you are "fake happy" 

Sometimes depression can be in the aftermath of something that makes "sense" to be sad about:  a loss of a loved one, a big change or life event.  Sometimes it can be there for no external reason at all - sometimes we just feel this way and it's difficult to pinpoint exactly "why", and that can feel frustrating.  I get that.
